Carbon dioxide + HeatĪ change or reaction in which heat is absorbed from the surrounding is called an endothermic reaction.įor example in a reaction between carbon and sulphur, carbon disulphide is formed with the absorption of heat.Ĭarbon + Sulphur + Heat ……. Some chemical reactions produce heat while some take away heat.Ī change or reaction in which heat is released is called an exothermic reaction.įor example In a reaction between carbon and oxygen, carbon dioxide is formed with the generation of heat.Ĭarbon + Oxygen ……. Some of the properties of a chemical change or chemical reaction are:Ĭhange in energy: Almost all chemical reactions involved energy change. Thus, a chemical change is also called a chemical reaction. Chemical reaction: A chemical change occurs when chemicals react with each other. For example cooking food, ripening of fruit, lighting a matchstick, aging of leaves and digestion of food etc. A chemical change is mostly Irreversible. Chemical changes: A Chemical change occurs when two or more chemical substances react to form new product that have an entirely different set of properties. A physical change is a reversible change.įor example heating of water melting of butter, cutting of paper etc. Physical changes: When a substance undergoes a physical change, it does not give rise to a different kind of substance or there is no new substance is formed. Milk turns sour, seed germinate, the weather changes and fruit ripen.Ĭhanges can be of different types: desirable and undesirable changes, slow and fast changes, temporary and permanent changes, reversible and Irreversible changes and physical and chemical changes.Īll these changes involve one or more substances.

Bsnes emulator fast forward2/28/2024 * wanting GL fencing / flushing per-frame * wanting to upscale mode 7 to 3840x2160 widescreen * wanting to run really demanding software filters like snes_ntsc (shaders are at least mostly free) * overclocking all the CPUs by 1000% to reduce slowdown * implementing run-ahead to multiply the system requirements by the run-ahead amount (+3 frames = 300% more demanding) * using rock-bottom hardware like $5 Raspberry Pi Zeroes People keep finding new, innovative ways to make SNES emulation more demanding: Snes9X -> 800fps (1200fps with frameskip fast forward) Mesen-S -> 240fps īsnes -> 390fps (500fps with frameskip fast forward) The question is, is it possible to make what we do faster without losing accuracy? I have a third SNES emulator (really >_>), and with range-tested IRQs and priority queues, and an opcode-based CPU core, I can match Snes9X's performance (for non-SA1/SFX games at least), but it absolutely does not pass my test_nmi/irq ROMs. If Mesen-S didn't come about, I would have tried to do the same for the accuracy mode of bsnes.Īs it stands, I'd like to invest as much resources as possible into speeding up the faster side of bsnes, but it's proving to be a really difficult struggle here. I was planning to speed up the accuracy portion inside bsnes, but I think that effort might be a bit redundant now ^-^īut yea, I'm hoping to be able to squeeze more performance out of it all eventually I revived bsnes to try and fill the large gap between higan and Snes9X, because I'd pretty much given up on another serious SNES emulator attempt. I am not in any way saying one is more important than the other (if anything, a gaming emulator is way more useful), it's just the kind of emulator I wanted to make is all. With higan, I want to preserve the machine more than play games. I don't want higan to be the fastest accurate emulator, I want it to be the reference implementation people use to validate the hardware. But on the whole, my original estimate seems to be mostly holding up. I think you have more headroom in Mesen-S to get more than 200%, but then there's also a few corner cases you're skipping because they're quite frankly ridiculously costly. I've always said you could get about twice the speed of higan without losing any accuracy if you optimized it to its limits. This is why I've been bugging other emudevs for quite a while now (to no avail :P) to make an accurate SNES emulator. since I end up with fairly slow code even if I do that :p) Most of the time I tend to favor speed over perfectly isolating the code for each piece of hardware (esp. since everything in a console tends to be interconnected, heh. In general though, while I do try to keep my code as clean as I can, I've found that often times abstractions that make the code cleaner unfortunately end up also making it slower, esp.

This sounds like an OMZ issue, where it needs to be updated for the latest changes to autojump. The autojump.sh file detects the current shell and loads the correct file from another location in the current version. That's all you'll see on a non-macports install of the latest autojump as well. However, on a brand new fresh install I'm seeing only autojump.sh and nothing else at all. OMZ is looking for autojump.zsh, and in an earlier MacPorts install profile.d did contain autojump.bash, autojump.sh, and autojump.zsh. The actual core autojump shell setup called for MacPorts is in /opt/local/etc/profile.d, but that may be an issue here. Jump quickly to directories that you have visited frecently. The OMZ autojump "plugin" is a simple nested if that just aims to automatically select the right profile of autojump depending on whether it was installed manually or one of the various package managers out there. Good fico score range2/28/2024 What credit score is needed if you’re buying with a partner? How long you’ve had an active credit profile - 15%.The portion of your available credit is being used - 30%.Payment history for all credit accounts - 35%.Your FICO score takes into consideration multiple data points, with some factors having a greater impact on your overall score: What’s included in a mortgage FICO score? According to Experian, most consumers have credit scores that fall between 600 and 750. A FICO score is a single number that’s calculated using a proprietary formula and data compiled by the three major credit reporting bureaus (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion).įICO credit scores can range from 300-850. When reviewing your application for a mortgage, lenders use your FICO score, a credit scoring model used specifically for mortgages. Mortgage FICO scores are used as the primary credit score for home buying Your credit score is determined by your broader credit report, which provides information about your payment history, number and types of open accounts, whether any of your debt has been sent to collections and if you’ve ever filed for bankruptcy. Lenders rely on your credit score, but also review all information reported on your credit report to understand your past financial behavior and your current financial situation. A low score suggests you do not have a solid debt history, or have not handled debt well in the past and are more likely to have issues making payments on your mortgage, making you a risky borrower in their eyes. A high score is a sign you’re a responsible borrower. Mortgage lenders focus on credit reports because they generally provide a comprehensive summary of the way you have managed your finances over time. A rate that’s just 0.25% to 0.5% lower means you’ll pay thousands of dollars less over the course of your loan. Not only does it help you qualify for a mortgage, but the higher your credit score, the lower your interest rate will be. Your credit score plays a crucial role in your ability to buy a home. How important is your home-buying credit score? If you’re buying a home with cash, you won’t need to be concerned with your credit score, as you won’t be working with a lender. It’s possible to buy a house with a wide range of credit scores, but the higher your credit score, the more likely you’ll be able to secure more favorable loan terms with your lender. Certain loan types even allow you to buy a house with a credit score as low as 500. Anything higher than that is considered “exceptional”, and helps borrowers get the very best mortgage rates. A favorable credit score to buy a house is typically in the high 600s and 700s.

Tim burton characters pumpkin2/28/2024 I think this movie is more appropriate for kids over 10. That being said, I would never, ever recommend it for children who are only 7 years old. Its spooky-but-humanized ghouls made the film. Unlike most Disney features of the era, Nightmare was darker, more stylized, and complex. As an adult, I think that the idea is very original, and there is some art to the movie and it's very unique. Tim Burton and Henry Selick’s enduring Disney masterpiece, The Nightmare Before Christmas, has enjoyed a loyal, ever-growing audience for more than 25 years. This movie uses very dark humor and has pretty dark, disturbing characters in it. The first 5 minutes of the movie are pretty disturbing, and my daughter covered her eyes (without me prompting) when she was watching it. Particularly, the scene where Boogie Man turns into a sack full of disgusting warms crawling everywhere was very disturbing to her (and to me). Even my daughter said after watching it that it was scary and some scenes she really didn't like. But this time the reviewers weren't exaggerating. I read some of the reviews saying that it was scary and had some questionable scenes, but I honestly thought they were exaggerating since I found few other movies that weren't rated so highly on this site quite pleasant to watch with my child. I told her she can watch it when she is 8, and when she turned 8 she reminded me about this, so I let her watch it. My daughter insisted on watching this movie for months. To stay in the loop on more movies like this, you can sign up for weekly Family Movie Night emails. But stereotypes and creepiness aside, the film has positive messages about gratitude and valuing what you already have - as well as catchy songs and extremely memorable visuals. Selick and head storyboard artist Joseph Ranft primarily worked from a combination of Tim Burton’s expressive ink, watercolour, and graphite character sketches, and the surreal illustrations of Dr Seuss’ children’s picturebooks (Bendazzi) to develop Nightmare’s on-screen look. The film also uses the "disabled villain" clich é, and the voice cast is almost entirely White. She's kind and helpful but falls into gender stereotypes, sacrificing herself to support the male lead and becoming a damsel in distress. Characters kiss, and a main character, Sally ( Catherine O'Hara), pines after the charming Jack ( Chris Sarandon). Younger kids who aren't old enough to distinguish fantasy from real life (or those prone to nightmares) might steer clear. That said, it does have scares: Characters take off their own heads and limbs, and there are skeletons, demons, zombies, worms, etc., as well as a very creepy villain named Oogie Boogie (voiced by Ken Page). This Jack Skellington resembled more a voodoo doll than a skeleton, with his head having stitches on the side, arrows going through it from top to bottom, and his eyes hanging from the sockets.Parents need to know that The Nightmare Before Christmas is an offbeat stop-motion-animated movie that's one of the greatest family films for all ages. This version can also be seen in the first two minutes of Vincent, but it’s seen more clearly during the aforementioned scene. Some of these appear briefly to better give the idea of Vincent being haunted, and among them is an early design of Jack Skellington. In the final minutes of Vincent, the boy is tormented in his make-believe world by ghosts and other creatures. Vincent is also obsessed with the works of Edgar Allan Poe, which inspire delusions that he’s a tortured artist and mad scientist. Narrated by Vincent Price, Vincent tells the story of seven-year-old Vincent Malloy, who idolizes Price and experiments on his dog, Abercrombie, to create a ravenous zombie dog. Even as the focal character, aside from knowing hes the Pumpkin King and the visible fact that he feels unfulfilled by the role, Jack isnt someone the audience gets to know incredibly well. In 1982, while working at Walt Disney Productions, Tim Burton made a black-and-white stop-motion short film titled Vincent. Jack Skellington’s first appearance has been widely believed to have been in Beetlejuice, and while he does make a quick cameo appearance next to the famous bio-exorcist, his debut was actually in the short film Vincent.

Brooks carbonite long sleeve2/28/2024 Another way companies achieve UPF protection is to pretreat their fabrics with UPF chemicals, but those can lose some of their efficacy after repeated washes whereas a good UPF shirt from a trusted brand will last longer.” How We Selected This Sun-Protective Clothing “Synthetic materials are actually better than natural materials, so clothing constructed to be tightly woven and provide UPF is good. “You want clothing that offers UPF, which is usually a reflection of what type of fabric is used-so something like a nylon or nylon blend is much more protective and safe than cotton or linen,” she says. A basic cotton T-shirt alone provides the equivalent SPF of about seven, she says-and even less if it’s wet. “The general rule is that the tighter the weave and the darker the color, the more protective the fabric is,” says Dr. Fabric material should also be a consideration. Protect Yourself: Sweat-Resistant Sunscreen Īs for fit, loose-fitting clothing is not only more comfortable in the heat, generally, but it also provides better protection because it’s not stretched to the point of allowing sunlight to filter through, according to the Skin Cancer Foundation. Light colors and see-through or slightly transparent fabric, like a thin white shirt, will be less protective because more UV rays can penetrate. Fabric ColorĪccording to the Skin Cancer Foundation, dark or bright colors are better at protecting your skin from UV rays because they absorb or even reflect the rays instead of allowing them to pass through the fabric to your skin. Try to run earlier or later, too, outside of peak sun-exposure hours. Try loose-fitting long sleeves on warmer days when you still want more protection and seek shadier running spots with plenty of tree coverage. But the more skin you cover with sun-protective clothing, the higher your protection level and the less real estate you have to cover with sunscreen. We know-it’s hard to run in full tights or long sleeves when it’s 75+ degrees outside. A UPF 50 garment will prevent 98 percent of UV rays from penetrating, while a UPF of 30 to 49 will provide less protection-but still enough to qualify for the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation. But what do the UPF numbers mean? Unlike the SPF (sun protection factor) number, which is a metric indicating how long it takes for sun-exposed skin to turn red and burn, UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) is a measurement of how much UV radiation can pass through clothing and reach your skin. Obviously, a higher number of protection is better. Hale notes that using high SPF sunscreen while running is important, “clothing is really the best line of defense.” What to Consider When Choosing Sun-Protective Clothing UPF Factor But “unprotected sun exposure is the leading cause of skin cancer and skin aging,” she says. Hale always wears both sunscreen and long-sleeve sun-protective clothing-even in warm weather, which she says surprises some of her patients. A huge fan of year-round sun-protective clothing, Dr. Hale is not only the Senior Vice President of The Skin Cancer Foundation and a practicing dermatologist in New York, but she’s also a serious runner with eight full marathons and about 50 half-marathons under her belt.
